At last...

A major step forward!

After a 2 week rain delay we finally are able to pour the main floor slab on October 31st, a cool cloudy day perfect for pouring concrete.

The day before the pour, plumbing
and rainwater pipes are in place
under the steel floor pan.

From above, the various pipes can be seen, and
hardware cloth has been positioned
to reinforce the concrete.

Once again, concrete is pumped down
our hill through a long heavy-duty hose...

...carefully leveled...

and troweled smooth.

By late afternoon, the floor is in place and wet down.
The blue rectangle beyond the front porch is the protective covering for an
aluminum trapdoor in the master bedroom closet.
The strange angles in this shot are compliments of our panorama software.
